Brianna's Kindness Park

Located at the intersection of Smith and School St on Chincoteague, Brianna's Kindness park is dedicated to its namesake, 11 yr old Brianna Merritt - whose life goal was to spread kindness. 

This Park is all-inclusive and offers a wide variety of equipment geared towards all.

Open to the Public Daily Dusk-Dawn.

Chincoteague Veteran's Memorial Park

This waterfront park is located on Eastside Rd and has a tennis court, basketball court, playground, fishing/crabbing* pier, ball field, boat ramp, skate park, pavilion and restrooms.

*The Commonwealth of VA enforces a recreational fishing license for the water surrounding Chincoteague. The Town of Chincoteague purchases a fishing licenses for the Veteran's Memorial Park fishing Pier - so no individual license is required.

Island Nature Trail

The Island Nature Trail is located along both sides of Hallie Whealton Smith Dr. The land where the trail is located represents some of the last large tracts of undeveloped land on Chincoteague. Enjoy the 0.7 mile long paved path on the Southside of the HWS Drive or enjoy a natural surface trail on the Northside of HWS that loops approx 0.45 miles through a pine forest and glade.

 

*No pets on Northside trail.

Chincoteague Dog Park

Located on Hallie Whealton Smith Drive, adjacent to the Island Nature Trail.

The Chincoteague Dog Park requires a permit for use. You may purchase the pass at any time from the Town Office or the Chincoteague Police Department on 6150 Community Dr.

Open Dusk to Dawn - anytime the Dog Park is locked, it is considered Closed.

Chincoteague Island Waterman's Memorial

Built to Honor All Local Watermen and Military Servicemen who were lost at Sea, The Chincoteague Island Waterman's Memorial is located on Mariner's Point at the South end of the Island and overlooks Wallops Island and the surrounding waters. This is a favorite place for dog walkers and to view Rocket Launches!

John H. Tarr Bay to Beach Bike Trail

The Donald J. Leonard Park is located across from the Chincoteague Combined School on North Main St. This park protects an open view of the Chincoteague Bay and has 600 feet of water frontage and over 2.7 acers of waterfront land in its natural state.

There are picnic tables, and kayak access to the Virginia Seaside Water Trail.

The Donald J. Leonard Park is located across from the Chincoteague Combined School on North Main St. This park protects an open view of the Chincoteague Bay and has 600 feet of water frontage and over 2.7 acers of waterfront land in its natural state.

There are picnic tables, and kayak access to the Virginia Seaside Water Trail.
