Support local artisans at this amazing event by grabbing gifts and island themed decorations to take home to your loved ones! Entry is $1 or FREE with a canned good that will be donated to the island food bank!

Turkey Trot 5k
Chincoteague Combined School

The David Landsberger YMCA will host its annual Turkey Trot 5k Thanksgiving morning beginning at 8:30 AM!
Start your holiday off by joining countless locals and visitors for a brisk morning run that will take you down Main Street, then by businesses such as Cosa Pizza, Steamers, and Island Creamery, before finishing off with a trip around one of the island's nature trails and finishing at the high school!

Holiday Tree Lighting

The Historic Main Street Merchants annual Tree Lighting will take place Saturday, November 28th at 5 PM featuring holiday music, hot cocoa, a performance by the Chincoteague Pony Drill Team, a "Stuff the Car" toy drive, and an appearance by Santa Claus himself!

Chincoteague Old Fashioned Christmas Parade 2026

Chincoteague's annual Old Fashioned Christmas Parade is simply one of those events that just makes you feel good. Small town charm, hundreds of smiling faces, dazzling floats, marching bands, fire trucks and ambulances, equestrian teams, classic cars and of course, Santa Claus, will make their way down Main Street for one of our favorite events of the year!
After the parade, make your way to the American Legion Post159 at 4023 Main Street to grab photos with Santa and enjoy complimentary hotdogs and refreshments!
